Do you believe your online banking credentials have been provided to an unauthorized person?
Are you no longer able to log into your account? If you have security alerts set up, have you received an alert?

  • If you receive an alert that contains a link via email or text message, it is not advisable to click this link. Account and Security Alerts (text or email) from First Northern will never contain a link.
  • Your username and password should never be given out to any individuals requesting these details. First Northern will NEVER request this information from you. We will NEVER ask to remotely connect to your computer. If you have provided your log in credentials, or have shared your computer screen while logging into your account with someone claiming to be from First Northern, you will need to follow these steps.
  1. Call First Northern immediately to report the suspected fraud at (888) 328-8677 during business hours.
  2. To protect you, First Northern Credit Union will lock your online banking access while recovery takes place. We will check your account for any transfers or payments that have recently posted and will attempt to cancel them.
  3. Since First Northern wants to ensure your security and privacy, we cannot make changes to your password. We also cannot provide any assistance with computer security, malware, or viruses. We can only recommend that you contact a legimate source for assistance with any recovery processes needed for your device.
  4. Since First Northern is unable to change your online banking password, we will prompt you to create a new online banking profile withe a new password.
    • When creating your new online banking profile, select a password that you have not used previously, is strong and unique, and does not have any obvious connections to any identifying words or personal information.
    • Any alerts, preferences, or notifications you previously had in place will need to be set up again.
  5. You also have the right to file a police report.
